If you go 15 seconds into this one and 5 seconds into the other one .. it's the same thing.
Sorry.

Not enough to make it a dupe. If it were the same sound as well, it would be borderline, but now, not at all.
2 things make this not a dupe: New footage, as kulpims said, even if it's not a lot of new footage and different sound.
I asked for this to be * discussed because I thought it was a dupe. The community felt it wasn't. I accept that and upvote the video. I'm not out to get anyone here. I honestly hate to see videos get discarded. But I really think dupes are becoming a big problem for the Sift.
I still think this is a dupe. But maybe I don't understand the precise definition of "dupe" on this site. That may be because there is no exact prescribed formula to define one.
There is this however from the FAQ:
"Search the site before submitting to see if the video has already been posted.
Duplicates will be * discarded. A duplicate video is one which contains content already on VideoSift in a published, queued, personal queued, or dead video submission. Minor changes in content, like a few additional insignificant seconds of video or alternate background music, will still be considered dupes. The only exception to this is if the change in audio makes a significant difference to the video content."
So according to the FAQ .. just having new sound or some new video does not mean a submission isn't a dupe.
Now it's all very subjective but .. does adding the song "Rocket Man" make a "significant difference to the video content"? The other video contains significantly more video and informative audio regarding the same event. The only difference I see is a few still photos added to the beginning of this one.
I like both videos. And UnseenUltra, I apologize for bringing this into your first sifted video. But I honestly feel like we have to start tackling the dupe issue here or we will be shifting from sifting YouTube etc to indexing it.
Hmm, it seems I'm a bit more forgiving with dupes than the letter of the law. I also agree that the dupe situation needs to be addressed, and if you have doubts about a video * discuss is needed. I'm glad we have a democracy on the sift an that it works here.
That being said, I'd rather let 10 dupes through then to discard a non-dupe.
