i am kind of upset that no one tackled him, hog tied him and then ran around the office all excited like he just won a rodeo.

^ You can't make a fake video if people acted instinctively. Instead they just stand there for 3 mins with cameras.

I feel there should be some sort of ending, instead of just finishing. or the other way around.

The thing that makes me think this is fake is when the security guy catches whatever's being wielded as a weapon on the downswing. Looks like a long-handled axe or something. Anyhow, it looks like a pretty slow swing, like he was giving the guy a chance to catch it.

I'm not going to call bullshit on this at all, especially with the other followup angle, the reactions of everyone, the general behaviour, this does indeed scream of someone really having a serious mental break. It would be fascinating to know the story behind this. More than likely there's something personal going on, a breakup is a common catalyst.

I hope he gets the care he needs, and I hope when the office puts itself back together they all get LCD screens... those ones were horrid.

Also

Oh bull, he's tired, half crazed and just lunging around, there's no reason to expect him to be violently swinging the thing at full speed. As for catching it on the downswing, well he does it early in the swing, which is when the least amount of energy is in it... seriously, if you're being attacked by long arm swinging punches or weapons being swung around, the BEST thing to do is get in close, far less power in swings and objects in close, it's if you move back and get clobbered with the END of the item that you'll get seriously hurt.

I really find this completely believable. If I'm proved wrong then it was one of the best fake setups ever, but I pretty much guarantee we'll see the confirmation of what happened in 'real' news outlets soon.

Definitely Shenanigans according to AOTS' take with a couple good reasons:

1) The worker starts by throwing the monitor he was working on. Why didn't he need to unplug it first?
2) It's supposedly set in Russia, but the date/timestamp uses month/day/year, rather than day/month/year format which is standard for that (and most every other) part of the globe.

Haha, thanks for the lesson in hand-to-hand, Rambo. Take another look. Security man doesn't close distance at all. Freak-out guy basically "bunts" the axe, or smashed lamp, whatever it is, and closes the distance himself. Either he's acting or he thought better of smashing someone at the last moment. He basically stops his swing and then steps forward so the security guy can grab the weapon, like two kids playing with rolled up paper tubes.

This would've been hilarious if it weren't for the woman getting slammed with that CRT monitor. As soon as that happened, every guy in the room should've jumped on him, but not one of them reacted... spineless pussies.

1) Unplugging the monitor is touted as a reason to not believe this by most... but have you ever actually tried to rip a monitor off it's plug? 2 things: 1- Half the time the video cable isn't screwed in, so it just pops off, and there are plenty of monitors where the power plug is just a standard plug into the back which comes out easily.
2) You do know that 99% of products are set up for US use, so the default is aaaaalwwwways m/d/y. I'm in Australia, and know this to be true, so unless you go out of your way to set it to the local it will be on the default US settings.

I'm still going with real

I can't believe the person who added music chose that horrible song. "Berserker" (from the Clerks soundtrack) would have worked so much better.

My only thinking on fake was the people at the bottom of the screen never made an attempt to get out! Why would you stand there when you have a clear escape route.

Nothing had cords attached, not even the keyboard I believe. From my experience, monitors of that type mostly had the video cable permanently attached.

I cannot believe how many people think this is real. It's so obviously fake. This is the same brand of suspension of disbelief that brings us cults and magicians. They want it to be true, so it is. I weep for humanity.

I don't think this is fake... Watch closely when he throws the first monitor..It actually drills a woman in the head. If this was fake, they would've stopped right there and got her help. Instead another woman comes over with a kleenex because I think cut her forehead.

As for the catch, as soon as he winds up what looks kind of like a lamp, guard lunges to get it.

Also, with the old BIG monitors, you don't need to unplug them, the USB/PS2 port would most likely snap because of the amount of weight from the montitor as it pulls away.

What USB/PS2 ports? They only had VGA and power going to them.

True, but IMO that only makes them more flimsy. The power cord is easily pulled out of most monitors, but the VGA cord isnt really plugged IN to anything, and those two metal..twisty..things.. On the side aren't exactly strong. I had to break them off to fit my adapter for my video card, and it was actually VERY easy to just rip them out of the plastic.

If this happened at my job about half the people would just keep working.

I work in research... our fire alarms have to be mind-blowingly loud or some people will try to wrap up experiments before escaping the flames.

very real looking to me.... love the behaviors of the co-workers, mostly like sheep

I've got to think that my friends and I at work would have shut that dude down within seconds of hurting that first woman. But, you work with this guy, maybe when its your good friend whos flipped, you just stand there mouth agape.

Well, it would seem all those who called fake can be smug little bastards as now the director of the Angelina action flick 'Wanted' has claimed he made this as a viral vid. (Although it'd be a great way to get press just to claim you had)
That story also links to a sped up version of the video with sound.
