This guy gets thrown 10 feet across the room, almost dies, but remains seated. The first thing he does is not to get up, check for injuries, or discern what just happened. Priority number one for this man is to locate his hat and replace it where it had been before a van and a wall almost crushed him, squarely atop his bald head. Now that is one cool customer.
My guess is that he was in shock. The hat was just something normal in an absolutely abnormal set of circumstances. If I were him my thought process would have been something like 'holyfuckinghellwhatjusthappened... hat should be on head... jesuschristhuhfuckingwhat?'
