Seriously, how cool is that? Think of how great the house that dag built is. Think of all the great videos you've seen here. Think of all the great comments you've read here. Think of how many great people you've met here. Then think about the man who dreamed it up while he was between jobs. Totally awesome.

Thanks for making this place, dag. There are a lot of people who've left their mark on this place, that's for certain. But there's only one person who's left a place to mark called VideoSift. So good on you, mon ami.

The other day I heard a song on the radio that I hadn't heard in eons, Night Ranger's "Don't Tell Me You Love Me."

It's kind of a silly video, but from that era I've seen worse. Did you ever hear the song or see the video before now? Unless you're around my age, probably not. Now you might be more familiar with their most popular song Sister Christian, possibly because it was used in the drug deal scene in 'Boogie Nights.'

Anyway, I now think Night Ranger pretty much sucks, but that didn't stop me from liking them when I was 15. In fact, I liked them enough to purchase their first album 'Dawn Patrol,' which included the above hit. And I have proof of purchase:

Middle-aged men should not act like they are 15 again.
Don't ask about the paneling; it's an Irish-American thing.

Yes boys and girls; that thing I am holding is called a record. Made from vinyl. You may stop laughing long enough to gasp in astonishment.

So, do YOU have any old records, tapes, or CDs that you bought in your misspent youth, only to later say to yourself, "WTF?" Be honest, because if you say you're not, how shall I say it, abashed by any of your musical purchases we'll know you're lying.

Please Remove 80s and 90s Sifts From Vintage Channel

To insure the integrity of our Vintage Channel, consensus has decided that Vintage Sifts are 70s and older. When you are posting, please add "vintage" to your sift ONLY if it is or older than 1979.

Also, it must be original footage... no recuts, remakes or videos shot in "vintage style"

It pains me, but I'm going to remove any 80s I've posted in my channel too. (This is going to take me awhile )

Twice now in the past day and a half, my Cosby Show video has been marked dead, when in fact, in isn’t. If you go to the YouTube source, the vid is fine. Yes it may take a while to load, or it may be region blocked depending on where you are (and I can't help that, I'm sorry), but as of this writing, the vid is there, trust me.
Furthermore, the YouTube submitter is "cosbyshow", and the name is Carsey Werner, the company that distributes the show. So unless you see a "video removed for terms of use violation" or something similar, it's NOT dead.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled sifting, already in progress...
